Organic! Rocks the island of
St. Barth's, FWI

Organic! just completed a 3 1/2 week holiday '05/'06 residency at Baz Bar on the island of St. Barth's, FWI. Co-founders John Cabán and Bennett Paster were joined by the band's new drummer, Yuval Lion and Hawaiian singer/songwriter & guitarist John Cruz. For 25 straight nights the band performed a mixture of original songs, instrumentals and covers, entertaining a bevy of rock stars, movie stars, scientists, sailors, yachtees, tourists and locals alike. No two nights were the same - most nights the club was ablaze with dancing throngs, others the audience sat rapt, chilling and listening.

Things really heated up when island legend Jimmy Buffett showed up, grabbed the nearest guitar and headed for the mic! Buffett joined us for over two hours as we performed impromptu versions of his original songs, including his hit "Margaritaville" as well as covers of songs by the Rolling Stones, Bob Marley and Neil Young.

Inspired by a few days of song writing on the island, Jimmy returned again on our last night with his writing partners and members of his Coral Reefer band, guitarist Peter Mayer, drummer Roger Guth and very special guest Mr. Roger Waters of Pink Floyd fame. Jimmy played several acoustic songs with Johnny Cruz singing harmony vocals and Yuval playing djembe. Then the members of his band along with John Cruz and Bennett joined him for a 30+ minute set. The club was packed from the stage out to the harbour and people were dancing, singing and screaming for the man who wrote "Cheesburger in Paradise" about the local bar 'Le Select' around the corner in everyone's beloved St. Barth's. The apex of the evening occured when John Cruz cracked open a bottle of Mount Gay rum, took a swig and passed it to Jimmy who did the same. Jimmy passed it on to Peter and the rest of the band. The bottle made the rounds throughout the bar as everyone shared in the great vibes and spirit of the hang and the music.

It was truly a night to remember!
